Charge Up Installations
An EV charger, solar and battery installer getting a site customers book through, an office system that quotes and allocates the work, and an app the engineers run the job from.
The quote, the job, the engineer and the paperwork end up as one thread rather than an inbox, a spreadsheet and a folder of photos.

The problem
The work is skilled. The admin around it isn’t.
A busy installer doing EV chargers, solar and battery storage across the country, with the whole operation held together by an inbox, a phone and a lot of paper.
The enquiry arrives as an email with no photos in it, so quoting means a phone call, and often a visit, before anyone knows what the job actually is. The work gets handed to engineers by message. The paperwork that proves a job was done properly comes back on paper, or as photos in somebody’s camera roll, and then has to be chased and filed.
None of that is unusual for a trade business, and none of it is anyone’s fault. It is just what happens when a company grows past the point its admin was designed for, and every one of those gaps costs a day somewhere.
What I’m building
One thread, from enquiry to sign-off.
A site customers book through rather than email, and it asks for the photos up front, so a quote can be put together at a desk instead of on a doorstep. Where a job genuinely needs eyes on it, a survey gets booked instead, and the customer is told which of the two is happening.
Behind it, an office system where the quote gets answered, the job gets allocated to an engineer, and the company’s own way of doing things lives where the people doing it can read it.
And on the engineer’s phone, an app that shows them their jobs and nothing else, with the sign-off done on site rather than written out later. It saves to the home screen, so there is no app store and no install to talk anybody through.
What it covers
Described rather than shown, because none of it is live yet.
- Booking from the site, with photos up front
- Survey first where a job needs it
- Quotes answered from the office, not the doorstep
- Jobs allocated to engineers
- The company’s own instructions, where the engineers are
- An engineer app on the phone, their jobs only
- Sign-off done on site, not written up afterwards
- Office and engineers on one system rather than three
Where it is
In build, and being built in the open.
A good part of it is built and proved. It has not launched, the badge above says so, and everything on this page describes what is being made rather than what is in use.
They are not a software company and they should not have to become one. So they see it as it goes, in plain English, and they say what is wrong while it is still cheap to change. When it does go live, the site, the office system and the engineer app are theirs, running on their own account, with nothing in the middle charging per job.
Status: in build. This project has not launched yet. Everything above describes what’s built, not what’s in use.
